Activity Summary: Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad organised Millets Recipe Week in connection with National Ayurveda Day to create awareness about the health benefits of millets, millet recipes and its preparation. Third year BAMS students (2019 batch) of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College participated in the program under the guidance of Dr Deepak K S, Professor and HOD and Dr Preethimol T P, Asst Professor, Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College. Millets are effective in preventing conditions like dyslipidemia, hypertension, gastric ulcers, diabetes, obesity etc. It is rich in fibres and gluten free. Mixed millet ladoo prepared with the flour of Pearl millet, Finger millet, Little millet using ghee and jaggery is nutritious as well as health promoting. Prepared recipe was distributed among the patients, bystanders, students and staff of the College. Pamphlets explaining the health benefits of Millets in Malayalam and Tamil were also distributed among the patients.
