Indian traditions of music therapy in the contemporary age

An exclusive seminar was conducted on “indian traditions of music therapy in the contemporary age “at Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College on 17-09-2027 from 10:00am to 12:00pm . The session was organized by HSA in collaboration with charak pharmacy ,DepaReportrtment of Swasthavritta and Student Support, Career Guidance and Placement Cell, with the objective of introducing students to the therapeutic benefits of music and its role in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr Sandeep , assistant professor,Department of Swasthavritta, followed by an introduction to the programme by Dr. Sunil Kumar N, Principal. The session was led by Dr Sajitha Bhadran , HOD Department of Swasthavritta,Govt Ayurveda college ,pariyaram ,who provided an insightful introduction to music therapy and discussed its applications in stress management, pregnancy,relaxation, emotional balance, and overall wellness.
The programme included interactive activities, guided musical exercises, and therapeutic music experiences that encouraged students and faculties to actively participate and explore the calming and rejuvenating effects of music. The session created a positive and relaxing atmosphere, providing students and faculties with an opportunity to unwind and learn practical techniques for managing stress and enhancing emotional well-being.
The programme was attended by around 114 students and 19 faculty members and was well received by all participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Lisamol Joseph(House surgeon), expressing gratitude to the resource person, organizers, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support.
