Charaka Jayanthi Celebration
The Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, celebrated Charaka Jayanthi on 28 July 2026 with great enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Acharya Charaka, The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Abdul Sukkur M.,Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Sunil Kumar, Principal, AAMC in the presence of the Chief Guest, Vaidya Vinod M. Govind, along with other dignitaries.
Vaidya Vinod M. Govind is an eminent Ayurveda practitioner with extensive experience in the management of Ayurveda oncology, Autoimmune and Neurological disorders. He is also a disciple of Swami Nirmalananda Giri Maharaj, whose guidance has greatly influenced his clinical practice and approach to holistic healthcare.
As part of the celebrations, prizes were distributed to the winners of Eassay and E-Poster competitions by the dignitaries. The formal function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sreejith K. K. Associate professor department of

The programme was followed by Charaka Parayanam by the students and an enlightening guest lecture delivered by Vaidya Vinod M. Govind. The lecture highlighted the timeless principles of Ayurveda and their relevance in contemporary clinical practice. It was highly informative, inspiring, and immensely beneficial for the students, providing valuable insights into the practical application of classical Ayurvedic concepts.
Following the lecture, an interactive discussion session was conducted, allowing students to actively engage with the speaker and clarify their doubts. The session was moderated by Dr. Minu Chandran, Associate professor department of
Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit and Dr. Aswathi K. Assistant professor department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit. Students enthusiastically participated by asking questions on various aspects of Ayurveda, making the session lively, insightful, and academically enriching.
The celebration concluded successfully with the active participation of students, faculty members, and staff, making the event a memorable and intellectually stimulating occasion.
