Activity theme: Preparation & demonstration of Ragi malt and green gram curry

Activity summary: Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad organized “Ayurvedic Recipes for every day” in connection with National Ayurveda Day to create awareness about the health benefits of certain Ayurvedic recipes and its preparation. Internees of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College participated in the program under the guidance of Dr. Deepak K S, Professor and HOD and Dr. Preethimol T P, Asst Professor, Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College. Ragi (Botanical name: Eleusine coracana) is a rich source of calcium, Iron, Protein, and fiber content. Green gram is an excellent source of protein, dietary fibre, minerals and vitamins. Prepared recipe was distributed among the students and staff of the College.

Rasala is rejuvenating, appetizing, and carminative. It is a probiotic and useful in Inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and Colitis. It is good for general debility and emaciation. Prepared recipe was distributed among the students and staff of the College.

Carrots are an excellent source of Vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene, several B Vitamins, Vitamin K, and potassium. Eating carrots can reduce the risk of Cancer and Heart disease and improve Eye health. Prepared recipe was distributed among the students and staff of the College.

Red rice is a good source of dietary fiber and helps relieve constipation. It increases satiety and reduces overeating. Cashews are rich in healthy fats, including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated types. Cashews are also a good source of Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Zinc, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin K. Prepared recipe was distributed among the students and staff of the College.
