Ayurveda exhibition as a part of 11th Ayurveda day
As part of creating awareness on Ayurveda, a mini Ayurveda expo was organized on behalf of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, Palakkad at the hospital corridors in which all the departments had opportunities to participate. The expo was thoughtfully arranged with informative and attractive display charts & models focusing on holistic approach to child care.
Key Attractions of the Exhibition were:
1. Prakaradi yoga combinations for respective age groups: Kaumarabhritya department exhibited various Prakaradi yogas – the Ayurvedic complementary feeding preparations indicated for infants and children. The formulations were displayed in the form of boards, age-wise – from birth to 3 years, explaining their ingredients and health benefits for improving bala (strength), medha (intellect) and vyadhikshamatva (immunity) in children.
2. National Immunisation Schedule: A chart of National immunization schedule was displayed to create awareness among parents about immunomodulation practices for enhancing immunity in children.
3. Kreedabhumi – Concept of Play Area: The concept of Kreedabhumi (playground / play area as per Kaumarabhritya) was highlighted, explaining the importance of age-appropriate toys (Kreedanaka), physical activities, and outdoor games in the physical, cognitive and emotional development of children.
The expo was arranged with guidance of Dr Ganga N (Associate Professor & head), Dr Kavyasree B S (Assistant Professor), Dr Lakshmi N Menon (Assistant Professor), Department of Kaumarabhritya, interns posted in the department and final year students of 2021 batch. The expo was visited by the teachers and students of Ahalia Public School, teaching staff, non-teaching staffs of various Ahalia group of institutions, doctors, students, patients and bystanders of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College Hospital.
