Visit to Anatomy Museum, Manipal by First Year BAMS 2024-2025 batch Students

As a part of NCISM academic curriculum the students of First Year BAMS 2024-2025 batch undertook an educational visit to the Anatomy Museum, Manipal on 11/12/2025. The visit was organized with the objective of enhancing practical understanding of human anatomy and correlating theoretical knowledge with real anatomical specimens.

During the visit, students were exposed to a wide range of preserved specimens  arranged in different sections

Anatomy Section –  well-preserved human anatomical specimens arranged systematically to illustrate different organ systems of the human body, from head to toe. Exhibits include preserved organs, region-wise dissections, models, and charts that help students visualize and understand structural details.

Comparative Anatomy – A unique segment where skeletal remains of various animals (such as elephants, whales, and reptiles) are displayed alongside human anatomy, allowing comparisons between species.

Pathology Section –  diseased human body parts and organs, illustrating the effects of common and lifestyle-related diseases, and helping students correlate clinical conditions with anatomical changes.

Students actively participated by observing specimens closely and clarifying their doubts, which helped in reinforcing concepts taught in the classroom.

Overall, the educational tour was successful and fulfilled its academic objectives with a total of 39 students along with 3 faculties Dr Veena Viswanath (Assistant professor Department of Rachana Sharir), Dr Aswathi K ( Assistant Professor,Department of Samhita Sidhanta) DR Aswathi US(Assistant Professor department of Kriya sharir) attended the visit.
