The Inaugural Ceremony of the 11th Batch of House Surgeons (2025–26)
The Inaugural Ceremony of the 11th Batch of House Surgeons (2025–26) of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad, was held on 7th October 2025 (Tuesday) at 10:00 a.m. in the ADH Auditorium. The programme, titled “Bhishagbhava – One Becoming a Physician”, marked the formal induction of the new batch of House Surgeons into their clinical phase of training.
The function commenced with a prayer, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Rakhy M, Assistant Professor, Department of Shalyatantra, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad. The Lamp Lighting Ceremony was then conducted, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and the beginning of a new journey for the young budding physicians. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. Sheba Sunil, Principal, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad, who inspired the new batch to uphold the values of Ayurveda and approach their clinical training with dedication, compassion, and professionalism. This was followed by felicitations from eminent faculty members and dignitaries —Dr. Preethi Jose, Medical Superintendent, AAMCH Palakkad, Dr. Swarochisha E.V., Senior Consultant, AAMCH Palakkad, Dr. Anoopkumar C.A., Professor and HOD, Department of Panchakarma, AAMC Palakkad, Dr. Betsy Baby, Staff Advisor, AAMC Palakkad, Mr. Shibu, Hospital Administrator, AAMCH Palakkad. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Lakshmi N. Menon, Assistant Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya, AAMC Palakkad.
The ceremony, which concluded by 11:30 a.m., was a memorable and inspiring occasion that motivated the new batch of House Surgeons to begin their professional journey with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility.
