Activity Summary: Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad organised a Millets Recipe Week in connection with National Ayurveda Day to create awareness about the health benefits of millets, millet recipes and its preparation. Third year BAMS students (2019 batch) of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College participated in the program under the guidance of Dr Deepak K S, Professor and HOD and Dr Preethimol T P, Asst Professor, Dept of Swasthavritta, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College. Ragi (Botanical name: Eleusine coracana) is a rich source of calcium, Iron, Protein and fibre content. Ragi dough spread in a banana leaf with grated coconut and jaggery cooked in ghee as a filling can be steam cooked to prepare Ragi Ada which is both delicious and a nutritious recipe. Prepared recipe was distributed among the patients, bystanders, students and staff of the College. Pamphlets explaining the health benefits of Ragi in Malayalam and Tamil were also distributed among the patients.
