INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2025
International Yoga Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation at Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Palakkad, under the joint auspices of the Hospital Administration, Vyuha (College Union), Department of Swasthavritta, and the NSS Unit.
The celebrations began early in the morning at 6:30 AM, with a short inaugural session. Dr. Haripriya (Head of the Dept.of Swasthavritta) delivered the welcome speech, setting a positive tone for the day. The live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address on International Yoga Day was screened for all participants. Following this, Dr. Farshad guided the students through a systematic session of Yogasanas, creating a peaceful and energizing start to the day. The morning session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Preethi.
The official function commenced at 10:00 AM with a melodious prayer song, followed by a formal welcome address by Dr. Haripriya. The ceremonial lamp lighting was carried out by the dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and health through Yoga.
Principal Dr. Sheba MD addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts on the significance of Yoga in daily life. Other dignitaries, including Dr. Ajesh Pillai (Senior Consultant), Dr. Anoop Kumar C A, Dr. Betsy (Staff Advisor), and Mr. Shibu (Hospital Administrator), also spoke on the importance of integrating Yoga for holistic well-being.
A major highlight of the day was the Yoga Dance Competition, where students displayed a beautiful fusion of rhythm, flexibility, and yogic postures. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of various competitions held as part of the celebration—Yoga Reel Making, Yogic Model Making, Yogic Pose Competition, and Yoga Dance—were honored with cash prizes and certificates.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ranesh A K, NSS Programme Officer, who expressed gratitude to all the contributors, participants, and organisers. The programme officially ended with the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, evoking a sense of unity and national pride.
The International Yoga Day celebration served not only as a platform to showcase talent and creativity but also reinforced the message of leading a healthy and balanced life through the practice of Yoga.
