Aarogya Pacha

On the occasion of 10th  Ayurveda Day, a workshop titled ‘Aarogya Pacha’ was organised  on 18th September 2025 from 9:45 AM to 12:30 PM   by the Departments of Dravyaguna Vijnana and Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, in association with Green Ahalia, for the students of class XI from Ahalia Public School. A total of 30 students actively participated.

The session commenced at 9:45 AM with a welcome address by Dr. Krishnapriya A, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Dravyaguna Vijnana, followed by felicitations from  Dr.Sheba M.D. Principal, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, who emphasized the importance of Ayurveda in preventive and promotive health care.

Dr. K. Haridasan  gave a comprehensive talk on primary health care plants, explaining their easy availability, simple applications, and benefits in day-to-day life. This session enabled students to connect with the traditional knowledge of household remedies.

The students were then taken to the pharmacy, where Dr.Sethu.R Associate Professor ,Dept. of Dravyaguna Vijnana ,delivered a session on the need to identify medicinal plants, their role in primary health care, and their relevance in sustainable living.

Following this, hands-on demonstrations were conducted under the guidance of Dr.Arya S. Varma ,Professor & HOD and Dr.Manju  Raj K,Assistant Professor from the  Dept. of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. Students  were shown the preparation of simple Ayurvedic formulations such as Shunti Churna ( dry ginger powder), Tulasi Swarasa (holy basil juice),Vasa swarasa and Jeeraka Kashaya (cumin decoction). Each preparation was explained with its method, therapeutic value, and practical utility, making the session highly engaging.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the teachers of Ahalia Public School. The event was highly engaging and provided students with valuable knowledge about Ayurveda, medicinal plants, and their role in promoting health and sustainability.
