Aushada Sevaa Dinam Mukkudi Seva
As per the NCISM syllabus , familiarizing the indigenous practices in Kerala, IInd Bams students prepared “MUKKUDI” which is traditionally consumed in the month of Karkidaka, under the guidance of Dept of Rasasatra and Bhaishajya kalpana. Mukkudi was served to all faculties, staff, students and patients of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital.
Mukkudi is given as a naivedya for Lord Dhanvanthari (Lord of Ayurveda) temples in Kerala. It mainly acts as an appetizer, enhances immunity and prevents common ailments occuring in the damp and moist climate of Karkidaka. It is explained in our classical literature as Khala under Pathya Kalpana. Mukkudi is prepared by boiling both fresh juice of herbs and dried medicinal powders in buttermilk.
