The Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya kalpana deals with pharmaceutics of Ayurvedic drugs. It is the only branch in Ayurveda which deals with the uses of heavy metals and minerals in medicinal form. The students get to know about the methods of preparing these metals and minerals by various procedures like purification and incineration for therapeutics. By strictly following the Ayurveda principles, this subject equips the students with all knowledge of formulating and preparing medicines according to the patient.
Department functions with one Professor (HOD), one Assistant professor and supporting staffs. Infrastructure facility of the department includes Staff room, Drug museum, Analytical laboratory and two practical halls. The Department also has weekly special OP on Fridays. 142 library books, 110 charts, 35 specimens and 349 specimens are also present in the department.
