11th Ayurveda Day – Health Awareness Talk and Free Ayurveda Health Check-up Camp
On the occasion of the 11th Ayurveda Day, the Department of Prasuti Tantra and Streeroga, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, Palakkad, organized a Health Awareness Talk and Free Ayurveda Health Check-up Camp at Mercy College, Palakkad, on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
As part of the programme, awareness sessions were conducted on the following topics:
* Decode Your Period – Know Your Flow, Know Your Health: Dr. Vandana K. Vasudevan, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Prasuti Tantra and Streeroga.
* PCOD – Exploring Ayurvedic Principles and Management: Dr. Thanooja Nayanar, Assistant Professor, Department of Prasuti Tantra and Streeroga.
The awareness sessions were attended by the teachers and students of Mercy College, Palakkad, and provided valuable insights into menstrual health, reproductive well-being, PCOD and its Ayurvedic principles of management. The interactive discussion session enabled participants to clarify their concerns and gain a better understanding of women’s health.
A total of 200 beneficiaries attended the awareness sessions and discussion, which received positive participation.
A Free Ayurveda Health Check-up Camp was also conducted with the objective of assessing the reproductive health status of college students and staff, providing appropriate medical guidance and promoting awareness of preventive healthcare. Free medicines were distributed to the beneficiaries as part of the camp.
Four Final Professional BAMS students, Anju James, Asher B. Mathew, Fathimathul Husna and Nikhitha Krishna M. K., actively participated in the programme and extended valuable support in its successful organization and execution.
A total of 86 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services provided through the Free Ayurveda Health Check-up Camp.
The programme served as a meaningful initiative to promote awareness of women’s health, encourage early identification of reproductive health concerns and highlight the role of Ayurveda in preventive and holistic healthcare.
