World Heart day – health awareness programme
As part of the Ayurveda Day celebrations, the Department of Kayachikitsa, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, organised a Health Awareness Programme on World Heart Day on 29th September 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
The programme was conducted under the theme “Empowering Minds to Protect Hearts”, with Dr. Sunil Kumar N, Principal and Professor, HOD, Department of Kayachikitsa,Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, as the resource person.
The session focused on creating awareness about heart health, cardiovascular diseases, their risk factors and preventive measures. Dr. Sunil Kumar highlighted the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management and healthy lifestyle practices in maintaining cardiovascular health. The session also discussed the Ayurvedic approach to prevention and maintenance of health through Ahara, Vihara, Dinacharya and healthy lifestyle practices, emphasising the relevance of Ayurveda in preventing lifestyle-related disorders and promoting holistic wellbeing. The programme provided students with valuable insights into the importance of early awareness and preventive healthcare and encouraged them to adopt healthy habits for maintaining a healthy heart and overall wellbeing. The informative session conducted by the Department of Kayachikitsa served as a meaningful part of the Ayurveda Day celebrations, reinforcing the message that protecting heart health begins with awareness, prevention and a balanced way of life.
